Pick a random name in seconds
Paste your list into the Entries box. Names can come from a class list, a sign-up sheet, comments on a post or a team chat. Press Spin, and the picker lands on one name and announces it.
Use Remove winner after each spin to work through the whole list without repeats, which is perfect for cold-calling, presentation order or secret-santa style draws.
Built for classrooms
Teachers can keep a wheel for each class: save the link with Share wheel and bookmark it. The picker remembers your last wheel on the same device, so it is ready when the lesson starts.
Event mode puts a big, readable wheel on the smart board, and the history panel shows who has already been picked today.
Giveaways and contests
Running a giveaway? Paste the entrants, put the wheel in Event mode and record your screen while you spin. The visible spin and the time-stamped history make the draw transparent to your audience.
Split a group into teams
Open Split into teams, choose how many teams you need, and the picker shuffles everyone into balanced random teams. Re-run it as many times as you like.
Private by design
Fair Wheel Picker is a static web page. The wheel, the random pick, the sound and the confetti all run in your browser. There is no account, no database and no upload. Your entries and history are stored in your browser's local storage so they are still there next time, and you can wipe them at any time by clearing the entries and history.
Frequently asked questions
Are my entries uploaded anywhere?
No. Fair Wheel Picker runs entirely in your browser. Entries are kept in your browser storage on this device only, and shared links carry the wheel inside the part of the URL after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server.
Is the result really random?
Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the animation starts, and every slice has exactly the same chance. The spin animation simply lands on the slice that was picked.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is completely free and there is no sign-up. Open the page, type your entries and spin. Your wheel is remembered on this device for next time.
Can the picker choose more than one name?
Spin again with Remove winner turned on to pick a second, third or fourth name with no repeats. Every pick is listed in the history.
Can I make random teams?
Yes. Open Split into teams, set the number of teams, and press Make teams.
Will my class list be saved?
Only in this browser on this device. Clear your browser data or empty the entries box to remove it.
